National Siblings Day @ Recipes

To celebrate National Siblings Day I decided to treat my sibs to an early dinner before going to work. It is seldom that we would go out for Filipino Food but I got this crazy craving for Recipes' Catfish - Green Mango perfectly paired with Crispy Tilapia. Yummy!

Le Menu

Catfish Green Mango

Lechon Kawali With Kangkong
Belly slices, kangkong in vinegar and soy sauce

I think It would've been better without the sauce at the bottom because it doesn't give off that crunchy texture we like in our Lechon Kawali.

Crispy Tilapia
Fillet Strips, sweet and spicy soy sauce on the side
This is heaven. I don't like fish that much but this is sooooooooo good! A must try! :)

General's Chicken
Thigh fillet chunks, eggplant slices, Recipes' special sweet - spicy sauce

LE SIBS
Too bad we didn't have a group pic because my other sister took forever to return to the restaurant and my brother was sleeping in another time zone. But here's A throwback pic of us together.. from another resto.. hihi ^_^v

NUEZCA CAFE EXPERIENCE

#latepost
Ok. So I have been Lazy :) and I haven't posted all of my foodie escapades 2013
because of the ff. Reasons:
1. I'm Lazy
2. I just felt it was not appropriate to post foodie adventures during the Typhoon Yolanda Tragedy.
3. I was just plain Lazy
and Amasareeee hehe.. I'll try to post everything today from all of my backlogs ^_^

So let me start off with my foodie adventure in one of my fave foodtrip place: Maginhawa St. ^_^

NUEZCA CAFE EXPERIENCE:

Nuezca Cafe' is a family-run restaurant that offers Healthy and Natural dishes fresh from their own farms located at San Felipe, Zambales where they raise naturally grown Poultry and livestock. For very reasonable prices, we provide meats bred using traditional farming methods and fed naturally, without chemicals for the savvy consumers looking for the healthiest diet. And the Nuezca Cafe' kitchen promises the use of ZERO MSG in their kitchen to preserve the natural taste of our dishes and promote a healthy lifestyle. - https://www.facebook.com/pages/Nuezca-Cafe/

I've always been intrigued by the restaurant's facade, they have a nice outdoor and indoor dining area, The Outdoor dining area is perfect for romantic dinner dates <3.  Its just too bad I was not able to snap a few shots because it was raining really hard that day.

I don't know about you, but anything that says NO MSG is always a cool thing for me. :) Plus the fact that everything here is "ORGANIC" is for me something worth trying.

Since this would be my first time to try this resto, I asked for the specialties..

Le Menu
Seafood Gising Gising

A MUST TRY!
Organic Pork: Lechon Kawali
Its was soooo tender and at the same time its soooo crispy. I needed to post another picture because it's that good! :)

Organic Rice
Love em Chilies! yummers!
Organic Leche Flan
fell short of my expectation.. its was just OK. The flan was a bit overcooked? It was not smooth and creamy like how I want my leche flan to be.

Tagaytay Road Trip: Dinner at Pamana

Road Trips wouldn't be complete without food trips, especially if you're going to Tagaytay where there are a lot of places to get your foodie on! (What?! ;-) I just had to say that! haha..)

It was a little late when we got to Tagaytay and it was really cold and we got cravings for Bulalo and a friend suggested we try out Pamana.

When we got to the place it has this homey feel. It's just like eating at home with the whole family. I like how the place exudes that vibe. It's like getting your own homey dining table at this restaurant.

PAMANA
Pamana's  Concept is fine dining Filipino restaurant that serves heirloom recipes handed down from generation to generation.

Menu Cover

A Gigantic Bowl of Nilagang Bulalo

Free Soup Refill
I love that you can ask the server to reheat your bulalo when it gets cold or he can add steaming Bulalo Soup in your bowl. ^_^

Sizzling Pork Sisig
It was just OK

Crispy Tawilis
it was OK, I'm not a fan of this one and I still cant get over how my friends just ate the whole thing from head to the tail. They said it was good. It paired well with the Nilagang Bulalo.

Pamana's Three Way Adobo
3 kinds of Adobo: Native adobo spareribs, Adobo Flakes and Chicken adobong puti, all in one plate!
You couldnt go wrong with adobo. ^_^ I love the Adobo Flakes!

Your own "homey" dining table in Tagaytay

Ongpauco's Wall
Chef Happy Ongpauco-Tiu conceptualized this restaurant.
I want to have this too at our home but more of my vain pics though..
hihi..; )

Unfortunately, we were so full that we're not able to get any desserts. And that's a good excuse to go back to Pamana! :) Till my next visit.
